Motorcycle rally a tribute to police

Motorcyclists roll down South High Street toward the

Akron Police Department during the seventh annual

Police Memorial Rally on Sunday. More then 1,000

motorcycle officers and citizens paid tribute to fallen

police. Lee Boyette of Lakewood prays during the in-

vocation at the Akron police memorial. He was riding

in tribute to his friend Clifford Kaulkbrenner, a motor-

cycle officer who died in 2002. The motorcyclist’s pro-

ceded to Parma, Cleveland and then Southeast Harley-

Davidson. Proceeds from the rally benefit the Greater

Cleveland Police Scholarship Fund.
